Welcome to poetrybyalexx.com. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of this website and to any purchase you make from it. The site is run by Alex Winston, publishing as Poetry by Alexx (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
You may browse the site and buy books for your own personal use. You agree not to misuse the site, including by trying to break into it, interfere with how it works, use bots or scrapers to collect its content, or use it for anything unlawful. You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian’s permission, to place an order.
We sell Loved and Lost, Vol. 1, Loved and Lost, Deluxe Edition, and a bundle of both, in paperback and hardcover. Each is offered in three tiers:
We try to show our books accurately, but colors on your screen and small differences between print runs may vary slightly from what you see on the site.
All prices are in US dollars. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By placing an order, you confirm that the payment details and the shipping address you give are correct and that you are allowed to use that payment method.
An order is only confirmed once payment goes through and you receive a confirmation email. We may cancel or refuse an order, for example if we find a pricing or stock error, suspect fraud, or cannot ship to your address. If we cancel an order after you have paid, we will refund you in full. Coupon codes may have conditions such as an expiry date, a minimum spend, or limits on which items they apply to, and they cannot be combined unless stated.
Standard copies are printed on demand and shipped by our print partner, Lulu. Because each book is printed after you order, please allow time for printing before it ships. Signed and Dedicated copies are autographed and shipped by Alex personally, which usually takes a little longer. Typical processing for Signed and Dedicated copies is about 7 to 10 business days before shipping, plus delivery time.
Shipping fees are shown at checkout before you pay. Delivery times given are estimates only, and delays caused by carriers, customs, weather, or other things outside our control are not our responsibility. For orders shipped outside the United States, you are responsible for any import duties, taxes, or customs fees charged by your country. Please double-check your address before ordering, because a package returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address may require an additional shipping fee to send again.
If your book arrives damaged, has a printing or binding defect, or is not what you ordered, email us within 30 days of delivery at hello@poetrybyalexx.com with your order number and a clear photo of the problem. We will send a replacement or refund you, whichever you prefer where possible.
Because books are made to order, we do not accept returns or give refunds for change of mind. Signed and Dedicated copies, including those with a personalized dedication, are made specifically for you, so they cannot be returned or refunded unless they arrive damaged or incorrect. Refunds go back to your original payment method and may take several business days to appear.
You can request a cancellation by emailing us as soon as possible after ordering. Once a book has gone into printing or has been signed, it can no longer be canceled.
All content on this site, including the poems, text, book covers, illustrations, logo, photographs, and design, belongs to Alex Winston or to the artists credited for it, including illustrations by Desiree Blackmon Cook and cover design by Kirsten Stillwell, and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may share links to the site and short quotations with credit to the author, but you may not copy, reproduce, sell, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
If you post a review or send us a message, you confirm that it is your own honest opinion and that it does not break the law or anyone’s rights. You give us permission to display your review, with the name you provide, on this site and in our promotions. We may remove any review that is abusive, misleading, or off-topic.
The site uses services from other companies, such as Stripe for payments and Lulu for printing and shipping, and links to platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Linktree. Those services have their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it is provided “as is,” without promises that it will always be free of errors or interruptions. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or your purchase, and our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under law that cannot be waived.
How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in Florida, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version. Orders are covered by the Terms in effect at the time you place them, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
